Biography
Markus holds a degree in labour market economics and monetary policy from the University of Würzburg/Germany. Following a stint as scholar for the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee in the European Parliament in Brussels, he joined Dun & Bradstreet’s Country Insight Team in London in 2010 where he covered political, economic and credit risk in Western European countries. During his three years as D&B’s chief economist in 2018-21 he featured frequently in newspapers as well as television while also presenting at major D&B client’s and industry associations. Since 2022, he works as a freelance economist in Germany, advising clients on the business implications of economic and political developments.
